Services Provided by GPYFS Foster Care Specialist
GPYFS wants all of our approved homes to be fully supported through their journey:

  • 24 hour on-call services for emergencies
  • Weekly phone/email contact
  • Monthly home visits
  • Guidance with and through the DHS system
  • Advocacy in court and submission of court reports
  • Assistance with referrals for needed services
  • Discharge planning
  • ​In-service training for foster parents and children

How YOU can help:


Foster Family
Provide a safe and loving home for a child in need:

  • Provide long term care for children until they can be reunified with their biological family or a permanent placement is determined
  • Homes are certified and trained by GPYFS staff
  • Compensation available


Respite Care

Provide support for Foster Care:

  • Provide short-term child care for a current GPYFS Foster Family
  • Evening care or weekend care
  • Home is certified and trained by GPYFS staff
  • Compensation available


Emergency Host Home

Provide temporary care for children in OJA and DHS custody:

  • Emergency placement last from 24 hours up to 30 days
  • Home is certified and trained by GPYFS staff
